This is a fund in the name of John Roach. We aim to fund Professor Robert Hawkin's research for the treatment of Stomach Cancer. We lost John to stomach cancer last year, after a long battle at the young age of 55. But we had some time in remission, where John made it clear he wanted to raise funds into the treatment of this life destroying disease. When well, John was a 'top of the range' mechanical engineer, an apprentice bell ringer, a wood burner enthusiast! and an all round good person who you could depend upon. He has a wife, Julia and two children Lucy and Emily. He is also a big Brother to David an Uncle and a friend to many more. John was also a Christian in faith, who did alot for his local community. We all miss him every day. But doing something for such a good cause in his name, is important to us all.
